Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy praised the Telangana caste survey as the most comprehensive and transparent model in the country, earning accolades from national leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, who called it a “role model for the entire nation.”
“This is a historic milestone and a victory for the Congress party. We take pride in being the first state to take such a bold and progressive step for the Backward Class community,” the Chief Minister said, expressing gratitude to the BC leaders who recognized him for this significant initiative.
In a gesture of appreciation, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, Minister Konda Surekha, chairpersons of various state corporations, and notable Backward Class leaders from the Congress party met with the Chief Minister to thank him for this landmark decision.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state’s dedication to empowering Backward Classes and emphasized the inclusive approach the Telangana government is taking in implementing this initiative.
“We conducted the caste census with the utmost integrity. People willingly shared their information, and we made sure that the data is fully digitized and securely stored to avoid any legal or procedural issues in the future,” he stated.
Mr. Revanth Reddy noted that no state governed by the BJP has enacted a similar reservation policy for BCs, highlighting what he described as the ruling party’s lack of commitment to social equity. “While we empower, others merely make promises,” he said.
PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, a steadfast advocate for BC rights, remarked, “This is not just policy; it represents a step towards restoring dignity and rightful representation for millions.”
