NCERT apologises for controversial judiciary chapter, withdraws Class 8 textbook

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has withdrawn its Class 8 social science textbook, Exploring Society: India and Beyond (Part II), after controversy over Chapter IV on the judiciary. The council issued an unconditional apology, stating the content on judicial corruption and case backlogs was inappropriate.
